News Items ~ Class of 2010

Miranda AlphinMiranda Alphin, of Columbus, Ohio, is graduating on June 26, 2010, in a private ceremony with family and her beloved pastor and wife, William and Nancy Sciscoe. Miranda’s high school years have been a true test for her as her family became involved in Foreign Missions at the start of her freshman year, when they served as AIM to the country of Estonia. In spite of the “crazy” schedule, cultural changes, and all-around lack of normalcy, she has proven her ability to overcome such obstacles. Miranda has accepted the Lord’s personal call on her life to Finland, and plans to help her family overseas for a minimum of two years. During that time, she will assist her parents with various duties while receiving hands-on training that they garnered during years of secular management. She has left the planning of her future up to God, and we are all looking forward to seeing His path laid out before her as time progresses.

Faith Carpenter senior pictureFaith Carpenter, of Marysville, Ohio, the first of Tom and Tracy Carpenter's children, is graduating on May 29 in a private ceremony with friends and family after having received a full home education from K-12. She is currently finishing her school year and working part time. She is also very involved with her church helping out with many responsibilities such as art projects for the Sunday school department, keyboarding and scheduling for the music ministry, and helping in the church inreach program. This last year she also participated in many outreach events for her local community. Faith wants to take a year off before continuing her education to go on several mission trips. Afterwards, she is considering Early Education or sign language certification. She desires to touch others that the world may see Jesus.

Milla Watts' senior picture"Milla" Priscilla Dawn Watts, the daughter of Elbert & Sharon (and sister to "Mega", "Kilo", & "Micro") Watts of Nowata, Oklahoma, is graduating May 22 in a ceremony with other home schoolers in neighboring Bartlesville. She plans on receiving a Bachelor's degree in Business specialized in accounting. Her "career" goals include becoming a Certified Public Accountant (to help families, churches, and individuals legally with financial planning), and a small business owner (so she can be a Stay-At-Home-Mom someday, and home school her own children). During her 18 years of home school education, Milla has received several awards for her public speaking abilities (including first in the state in 2007) as well as her work with conservation, 4-H, and the American Farmers' and Ranchers Mutual Insurance Company.
